Astrological Counseling

“My evenings are taken up very largely with astrology. I make horoscopic calculations in order to find a clue to the core of psychological truth. Some remarkable things have turned up which will certainly appear incredible to you.”

~Carl Jung in a letter to Sigmund Freud (June 12, 1911)

Astrological Counseling

I offer astrological counseling for psycho-spiritual exploration, understanding, and transformation. Astrology utilized in this way can be a missing key for deep inner work and can shed light on the path towards greater harmony with the natural rhythms and cycles of one’s life journey. My approach to astrology is to share the potentials and opportunities I see while exploring how the symbols and archetypes are manifesting uniquely for each individual. Astrology is a wonderful tool for self-knowledge and a help in times of challenge or transition. It can facilitate tremendous insight and peace, as well as provide timelines for certain archetypal or energetic influences reflected in our lives and inner states of being. Consultations available for birth chart exploration, current influences, relationship dynamics, and timing for important events.

Saturn goes retrograde

As Saturn ♄ retrogrades on 1/26 thru 6/12, the commitment to work persistently toward goals and the ability to fulfill responsibilities with discipline, in order to lay a strong foundation for one’s life & being, will be up for assessment. Saturn retrograde gives an opportunity to pause and reflect on one’s progress, catch up on missed steps, and redefine ambitions for the purpose of building something more stable.

Personally I am looking forward to the pause, reflection, and catch up time! All planets direct has been intense!! Check to see where you have Libra ♎ in your chart. Saturn will be moving backwards from 17º Libra to 10º Libra, showing which area of life you have been working hard in and where the reflection/reassessment will be taking place.

Since Saturn is about boundaries and responsibilities, one way to harness Saturn Retrograde and the idea of reassessment, is to determine if you need to set better boundaries because you have taken on too much responsibility and feel overwhelmed or overburdened...

Jupiter enters Aries, initiating a new 12 year cycle

Optimistic Jupiter ♃ enters fiery Aries ♈, initiating a brand new 12-year cycle. Over the next 4 months, wherever Aries is in your chart, expect a rush of vitality and exuberance to be born within you, an expansion of courage and desire to step forward, and a fresh exploration of your higher truths.

Sun, Mars, Chiron, and Neptune all in Aquarius

Today the Sun joins Mars, Chiron & Neptune in Aquarius ♒, bringing the essence of the Water Bearer strongly into focus. The glyph ♒ is 2 serpents, symbolic of knowledge, which the Water Bearer is pouring forth. Aquarius opens us to revolutionary breakthroughs, freeing us from structures and paradigms no longer adequate for the expansion of consciousness that is unfolding, within oneself and collectively.

Sun in Aquarius from 1/20/11 to 2/17/11
Mars in Aquarius from 1/15/11-2/22/11
Chiron in Aquarius from 2/22/05 to 2/9/11
Neptune in Aquarius from 1/29/98 to 4/4/11

Now clear of Mercury’s shadow

We are now clear of Mercury’s Shadow, meaning the process of reevaluation that occurred during Mercury retrograde in December is fully complete. Our minds are ready to absorb fresh material. With all planets direct, things are moving forward and changing rapidly. The vibrational frequency is going to continue to rise with upcoming celestial events. The opportunity and challenge is to stay centered - as we all adjust up.

Mercury now joins the Sun in Capricorn

Mercury ☿ now joins the Sun in the sign of Capricorn ♑ Jan 13 - Feb 2. Matters of integrity, respect, and prudence (♑) may come further into focus especially in day-to-day social or business interactions (☿). Thoughts and conversations (☿) may be serious or practical in nature, and yet inspired with subtle refinements (♑)... These are a few examples of how this configuration may show up!

The Moon is in Aries

The Moon is in Aries ♈, sign of the warrior and pioneer - sign of courageously asserting & exploring. As the Moon waxes to a First Quarter (Jan 12), it is the part of the cycle that suggests continued effort and action to clear a pathway towards manifesting the new vision related to the seed impulse released at the New Moon (Jan 4). All planets being direct support this growth and forward movement.

Today someone mentioned to me that she didn’t resonate with the feeling of all planets being direct as she was experiencing barriers towards moving forward...  A couple things come to mind in response to that - for one, this part of the lunar cycle (Waxing Crescent through First Quarter) does require strength and determination to overcome obstacles in order to grow and build whatever you are working on. The seed was planted at the New Moon, but now it has to germinate, sending shoots out into new territory etc, which can be a difficult process... The other thing to keep in mind is that the general transits in the sky do affect all of us, however the way in which they interact with our own charts are individual and primary.

A perfect time for just being

All planets are direct, so in general this is a great phase for venturing forward on projects, endeavors, and ideas; however today we have a long Void-of-Course Moon from 3:51p-9:57p EST, making this evening a perfect time for just being, and allowing what is to be what it is. Tomorrow is another day for striving...

Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Pisces

Along with the Solar Eclipse, Jupiter ♃ is exactly conjunct Uranus ♅ today at 27º Pisces ♓. Jupiter expands and adds benevolence to whatever it touches. Uranus represents sudden change, exciting breakthroughs, and progressive/revolutionary ideas. These two planetary archetypes combining in dreamy, mystical Pisces will manifest uniquely for each of us, but in general connection with the divine is enhanced and highlighted.

New Moon Solar Eclipse

There is a New Moon Solar Eclipse ☀ at 14º Capricorn ♑ on 1/04 at 4:03am EST. The New Moon is a time to notice what new impulse is being born within, to honor your inspiration, and take a step forward. A Solar Eclipse greatly enhances the effects of a New Moon - powerfully charging the new beginning, as something new replaces something old, and propelling us into a new cycle.

All planets are direct!

Mercury went direct at 2:21am EST. 12/30/10 to 1/26/11 all planets are direct! This is somewhat rare and suggests things will be flowing forward freely now (the reflection time is over)! However it is the Solar Eclipse New Moon on 1/04/11 that will jump start a fresh cycle, and the energy will really start moving fast after 1/20/11 when Jupiter enters Aries, the sign of new beginnings!
