Astrological Counseling

“My evenings are taken up very largely with astrology. I make horoscopic calculations in order to find a clue to the core of psychological truth. Some remarkable things have turned up which will certainly appear incredible to you.”

~Carl Jung in a letter to Sigmund Freud (June 12, 1911)

Astrological Counseling

I offer astrological counseling for psycho-spiritual exploration, understanding, and transformation. Astrology utilized in this way can be a missing key for deep inner work and can shed light on the path towards greater harmony with the natural rhythms and cycles of one’s life journey. My approach to astrology is to share the potentials and opportunities I see while exploring how the symbols and archetypes are manifesting uniquely for each individual. Astrology is a wonderful tool for self-knowledge and a help in times of challenge or transition. It can facilitate tremendous insight and peace, as well as provide timelines for certain archetypal or energetic influences reflected in our lives and inner states of being. Consultations available for birth chart exploration, current influences, relationship dynamics, and timing for important events.

Sun square Uranus

Sudden insights, unexpected changes, or surprises may be part of this day as the urge for freedom and the spiritual demand for transcendental breakthroughs challenge the status quo (Sun square Uranus ☉❐ ♅).

Taking a more expansive view

Taking a more expansive view is possible tonight, and will support identifying with and living one’s greater potential (Sun sextile Jupiter ☉*♃).

It’s a day ideal for contemplation, meditation, dreaming, and imagining

The Moon is in Pisces ♓ and Void-of-Course all day, so it’s a day ideal for contemplation, meditation, dreaming, and imagining. Envision solutions and outcomes that are best for you and the higher good. Tomorrow The Moon will enter Aries ♈, a perfect time to initiate action inspired by today’s receptivity and dynamic stillness.

Also today, the Sun☉trined Neptune ♆ (10:08aEDT), amplifying the dreamlike quality and spiritual essence of the day. At the same time Mars ♂ squared Neptune ♆ (2:46aEDT), obscuring our motivations and assertions, emphasizing again the wisdom in waiting until tomorrow to take important actions, if possible. There is a potential for lack of clarity - what’s “real” or “true” may be colored by subjectivity, yet the voice of intuition may also be strong today. How to sort through it all? I’m not sure, but I can guess it’s not via the ego’s route...

The Sun enters Cancer ♋ and we enter the Summer

Today the Sun enters Cancer ♋ and we enter the Summer, the time of fruition. Cancer is ruled by the softly lustrous and soulful Moon. The sign of the Crab, known to be nurturing, protective, and sensitive can also be silly and loony (from lunar). Here’s a classic for all you Moon children!

The spirit of Moon in Aquarius

The Moon has been in Aquarius ♒ all weekend continuing through the afternoon today. The spirit of Moon in Aquarius is about being true to yourself and accepting who you are, without trying to fit into other people’s concepts of what you should be, and more importantly without trying to fit into your own concepts of what you should be. Rather it is about allowing yourself the freedom to be your unique being, as you are.

Mercury ☿ makes multiple connections

6/17-6/19: Our minds and mouths could be ultra active as Mercury ☿, ruler of thoughts and words, makes multiple connections (above and so below): trines Neptune ♆ - we open to the voice of intuition and inspiration; sextiles Jupiter - our perspectives broaden; squares Uranus - sudden news or surprises; trines Chiron - potential for healing conversations; and opposes Pluto - deep transformative truths revealed...

A Full Moon total lunar eclipse...

Today is a Full Moon total lunar eclipse. Full Moons are associated with seeing clearly, as the Sun lights up the Moon for us to see its entirety, and lights up our night so that we may better see what lurks in the shadows. So too in our lives, we may see something that was previously in the dark for us. An eclipse intensifies the Full Moon energy, often necessitating shifts and changes along with the new awareness.

This lunar eclipse is at 4:14pm EDT at 25º Sagittarius ♐ (sign of the traveler, student/teacher, truth seeker). Wherever 25º Sagittarius is in your chart and if you have major planets or points aspected by it - will give insight as to how this eclipse may touch you, personally... The Full Moon in Sagittarius opposes Mercury ☿ as well as the Sun in Gemini ♊ - so communication, mental processes, and a variety of differing strong opinions may be a substantial part of the experience... This eclipse is not visible in the US - we will not be able to see the earth’s shadow, first moving across the Moon, then turning it red/orange, so supposedly it may not affect us as intensely on the collective level here in the US.

Saturn ♄ goes direct!

Saturn ♄, the planet which rules the important practical foundations of our lives, has been retrograde since January 26, slowing down external results while we integrated the past and discerned where we needed to work quietly and steadily on long-term or serious projects and relationships. Now that Saturn is turning direct tonight, we will begin to see the fruits of our labor and move forward toward our goals more directly.

The reason I mention relationships, not a word typically associated with Saturn, is because Saturn is currently in Libra ♎, the sign that rules partnerships of all kinds.

Venus square Neptune — true love, soul-mates -- or a mirage?

Venus ♀ square Neptune ♆ — true love, soul-mates — or a mirage? When Venus, the planet of love, is in a challenging relationship with Neptune, the planet of divine union but also illusions/fantasy — it’s not a bad idea to ask this question... Indeed we can do so without becoming jaded or losing faith in inspired possibilities...

Chiron (the wounded healer/teacher) goes retrograde...

Inevitably through life we suffer wounds along the way. We strive to heal the best we can and acquire wisdom from each experience. As Chiron (the wounded healer/teacher archetype) goes retrograde, reflections upon this process could arise. If we become aware of an old scar or a current hurt, we also can see how far we have come and how much we have learned. The myth of Chiron suggests we all help to “heal” others through our own work to heal ourselves.
